Geoff Roach Bio:
I entered the software arena as a 20 year old graduate student at Clemson University. It's been a pretty wild ride and a lot of fun. Currently, I am doing very exciting work as Strategic Partner at SiVal Advisors.
From 2005 - 2010, I was CEO / Executive Director of San Jose Jazz. It's not exactly in tech, but still in Silicon Valley. San Jose Jazz is the producer of the San Jose Jazz Festival, one of the largest music festivals on the west coast, and many other performances and educational programs.
Being a proponent of lifelong learning, I received my Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the University of Phoenix in 2008. My doctoral dissertation is on angel investing. A version of this work was published in the April 2010 issue of Venture Capital An International Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance. I was also a member of the angel investing group, the Keiretsu Forum. I
have been an advisor and mentor to other startups and organizations. A copy of my dissertation, ANGEL INVESTING: A CASE STUDY OF THE PROCESSES, RISK, AND INTERNAL RATE OF RETURN, is available here.
